Welcome to Braidbar Boats

Based on the Macclesfield canal in the rolling Cheshire countryside at the edge of the Peak District, Braidbar Boats have been building narrowboats for the discerning boater at historic Lord Vernon's Wharf for almost twenty years.

We enjoy building just 8 luxury boats each year and we take great pride in our flexibility regarding steel work (thanks to the talents of Tim Tyler) and interior craftsmanship which is both traditional and timeless.

We have now built over 100 boats and have ourselves lived afloat for 13 years and raised two children on board, so we would be considered to have invaluable experience where practicality and economy of space are concerned.

We sincerely encourage people to come and meet us, see how we work and discuss their ideas. Such a boat is a once in a lifetime acquisition and determining which team you want to build your boat is a very important part of the groundwork.
