‘The Big Boat’ is a 70', semi-trad narrowboat commissioned by the Big Life Centres as a community boat with a difference. The boat is painted in corporate colours of purple and orange, and although not traditional is stunning and eye catching. Built to the high quality standards synonymous with a Braidbar Boat, this is the first Braidbar built with wheelchair access. It has drop down gun whales onto front deck, double hinged extra wide entrance door and large sliding hatch to boat, and a separate electric caterpillar track to get wheelchairs in and out of the boat, whilst leaving the stairs in tact for access of able-bodied persons.
The Boat has been built with 50Hp Beta diesel engine, and hydraulic bow thruster for ease of manoeuvring. With a big open meeting space at the front and removable folding tables and chairs, the room is light and airy. Beautiful LED multi-coloured lighting has been fitted under the gun whales supporting a calm atmosphere for the appropriate venue. Designer radiators make a statement as well as a great source of heating.
